Mrs. Maria Gkerekou is a PhD candidate at the Food Quality Control and Hygiene Laboratory, of Food Science and Human Nutrition Department, of Agricultural University of Athens. He graduated from the Department of Animal Science, of Agricultural University of Athens and completed the Master's Degree of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, of Agricultural University of Athens, specializing in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. She has published papers in prestigious journals (6) and has presented either as oral presentationσ (3) or as poster presentationσ (10) studies carried out during her PhD or during her participation in European and national programs. She has received a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) to carry out her PhD thesis, as well as a scholarship to attend a conference. Finally, she has received awards during both her master's and doctoral studies for her academic performance as well as for supervising/mentoring student groups in student competitions.
