Postdoctoral researcher at the Food Science and Technology Department of the University of the Peloponnese

Kalliopi V. Dalakleidi received her Diploma from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2005. Then, she worked as an ontology engineer on the automatic extraction of semantics from multimedia content in the framework of the European Project BOEMIE as a member of the IVML group of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. Since 2011, she has focused on the development of artificial intelligence techniques for the diagnosis, management and treatment of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases, as a research collaborator of the Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Kalliopi received her Ph.D. with title “Development of Clinical Decision Support Systems for the Management of Diabetes Mellitus” in 2017, which was funded by the State Scholarships Foundation. In 2017, her team won the first prize of the “Intrasoft international” innovation contest. Since 2021, she is also a postdoctoral researcher of the Department of Food Technology at the University of Peloponnese. Since 2022, she is giving lectures for the Master of Science “Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine” of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens for the courses «Research Methodology”, “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare” and “Medical Imaging and Image Analysis”. She has served as reviewer in eight international scientific journals and six conferences. In addition, she is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Technical Chamber of Greece. She is Chair of the IEEE Greece Section Women in Engineering Affinity Group since 2020. Her research interests include semantic web technologies, interpretable artificial intelligence, clinical decision support systems for chronic diseases and smart sensor networks.
