Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Agricultural Products in the Food Science and Technology Dept. University of the Peloponnese, obtained his Bachelor in Chemistry (1986), Ph.D. in Chemistry (1993), Diploma in Chemical Engineering (1994) and M.Sc. in Natural Sciences Didactic (2008) from the University of Patras. He was Postdoctoral researcher in the Chemical Engineering Dept., University of Patras and the ICE-HT (1994-1999). At the same time he worked in the N.AG.RE.F/Institute of Plant Protection, where he specialized on the determination of pesticides residues in agricultural products. His research activities focused on the study of interfacial phenomena, measurement of diffusion, adsorption, desorption and partition coefficients for the interaction of gases and liquids with solid surfaces, synthesis and characterization of colloidal particles and macromolecules, kinetic study of alcoholic fermentation and determination of contaminants in foods. He is author or co-author of 44 research articles in peer review International Scientific Journals, his work has been cited more than 800 times and his h-index is 18. Also, he has been participated in than 70 national and international conferences. He is also co-author of two books circulated by the Hellenic Open University and editor of the proceedings of an international conference. He has been participated in 18 national and EU projects (as coordinator or member of the main research team) with a total budget more than 4.000.000 euros.  He was member of the steering committee of the 14th International Symposium on Field and Flow Based Separations (Patras, 2009) and Chairman of the Steering Committee and Μember of the Scientific Committee of the 9th International Conference on Instrumental Methods of Analysis - Modern Trends and Applications (IMA-2015) (Kalamata 2015).
